National Poster Drawing Competition 2004 for school children was organized by the Foundation. There was overwhelming response with participation by school children from Vellore, Karnal, Chandigarh and Ajmer in addition to children from different parts of Orissa. The first prize was bagged by Ishaan Vadhera of Chandigarh. The jury included the celebrated artist Sri Siba Panigrahi, sculptor Sri Pramod Mohanty,and art teacher Sri Jitendra Sahu.  

18 July 2004: A Spot Poster Drawing Competition for school children was also organized in collaboration with “Rupayana” at Kala Vikas Kendra, Cuttack at 4-00 to 6-00 PM.

24 July 2004: A Road Show / Rally in Cuttack was organized. About 150 young basketball players participated wearing special T-shirts bearing slogans like “Join the war against Hepatitis B” and “Vaccination can eradicate Hepatitis B. It commenced at 4-30 PM from Gopabandhu Bhawan, Cuttack. and ended at the Barabati stadium.

25 July 2004, a Hepatitis B Symposium: [An Educational Programme for Doctors and Postgraduates] was organized at IMA House, Cuttack . The faculty included Prof. George Kurian, Head of Gastroenterology at CMC, Vellore, Prof. Philip Abraham from Mumbai, Prof. Rakesh Aggarwal from Sanjay Gandhi PGIMS, Lucknow and Dr. Narendra Bohidar, Gastroenterologist at SE Railway, Kolkata.

On 28 July 2004, we are going to organize the 4th Hepatitis B Eradication Day [HBED] Program at Hotel Suryakiran, Cuttack. This year, the 2nd KGF Sammana would be conferred at this HBED ceremony. Besides, the 2 special features of this year’s HBED are: launching of HESI Hepatitis B Eradication Society [HESI] of India.

Besides, at this year’s HBED ceremony, a unique international journal dedicated toresearch and development in the field of Hepatitis B – “HEPATITIS B ANNUAL” would be launched and released too.We are sure with the good wishes of our patrons and friends, and support from the pharmaceutical industry, we shall one day achieve the goal of our mission – ‘Eradicating Hepatitis B’.
