On 10th August 2003, on the birthday of late Professor Samarendra Lal Bose, the founder of Gastroenterology in the state of Orissa. a Symposium on the Carcinoma Gall bladder was organized. The S.L. Bose oration on this occasion was delivered by the reputed oncologist from the Thakurpukur Cancer Institute at Kolkata, Dr.Madhuchhanda Kar. Dr. Narendra Prasad Bohidar, Senior Gastroenterologist of Southeastern Railways, Kolkata also participated in this Symposium and spoke about the role of endotherapy..
